Loaves & Fishes ‘Shop for your Parents’ celebrates 13th anniversary

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

DEVENS — On Saturday, Dec. 14, Loaves & Fishes will hold its 13th annual Shop for Your Parents Day.

The event will be held at the Shriver Job Corps Center, 270 Jackson Road, Devens. This special day includes a family breakfast, a talk with Santa, and, of course, “shopping.”

This program provides an opportunity for children of Loaves & Fishes clients to select presents for their parents or guardians at no cost. In addition, seniors and adults living alone are each provided with a gift bag.

Shriver Job Corps and Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce will be sponsors again this year. However, additional support is welcome. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please visit our web site at www.loavesfishespantry.org and click on Shop for Your Parents.

In addition to cash donations, we are looking for new gifts with a value between $10 and $15. Some suggestions are gloves, winter scarves and hat sets, slippers (medium and large), perfume, sports-related items, clothing, tools, and any warm items. Please remember that all gifts must be new.

We do have a jewelry table at which we can use gently worn jewelry.

Checks should be made out to Loaves & Fishes with Shop for your Parents noted in the memo area. Checks may be mailed to L&F c/o PO Box 215, Ayer, MA 01432.

For gift donation, drop-off or pick-up information, call Marie Allen at 978-772-7510 or Joan Pena at 978-772-4440.
