The ninth annual Devens Charity Chili Cook-Off was another great success.

On Sunday, Oct. 13, more than 600 people gathered on Devens Common to taste the delicious chili that the 17 local contestants served up.

Congratulations to Cagney Butilier and Katie Sheldrick, the “Grill Girls” who took the first-place trophy, and to Jose Banchs and Mike Harmon from J & S Business Products in Ayer, who took second place.

Both our winning teams generously donated their winnings back to the Autism Resource Center.

Congratulations and a big thank you to all the contestants for their participation, including: Aly and Sarah from Carlins Tavern in Ayer, Dave from Chip Shots in Ayer, Mike Lanteigne, Jeremy Penman, Patty and Craig Thorpe, Liz Lamoureau and Katie Proctor, Alison and Mike Potito, Jake Manning from The Country Butcher in Groton, Linda Willard, Mike from the Springhill Suites Marriott, Ben Dawes and Tyler Doyon, Emily Ford, Kevin Scott and Brian Hanson from Holmes Auto Repair in Pepperell.

Everyone enjoyed the days festivities, including face painting by Dawn Thompson, great music by Last Laugh, the moon bounce, the Wachusett Brewery Fire Truck and of course the spectacular chili.

All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Autism Resource Center of Central Mass.

Together we raised more than $9,100.

Without the generous contributions of local businesses we could not have been so successful. Thank you to HealthAlliance Hospital, Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mary Pacilio and all the local supporters for our raffles. Your generosity is appreciated.

Hope to see you all again next year for our 10th annual Chili Cook Off Bash!
