SHIRLEY — Exercise and more … all ready for you to stop by and enjoy at the Senior Center.

We have senior fitness classes that include weight-training and Pilates and are geared towards each individual’s needs. The classes are held on Tuesday nights at 5:30 p.m. or Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. If you are a working senior, think about the Tuesday evening class. Get rid of stress and get in shape, all at the same time?

We also have Qigong on Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Thursdays from 9-10 a.m., we have Chair Yoga. We use chairs, not mats. It’s relaxing and helps with your flexibility.

We have three new programs starting in September. First, we have added Cribbage to Monday afternoon Card Time. Many seniors have asked to play and now we have a time set aside for you. Stop by. Second, we have added creativity time. Bring your own project or see what the group is working on and join them. Lastly, we have added Rummikub. We will be playing that from 1-3 p.m. on the Thursdays when there is no Bingo. Don’t know how to play? We will teach you. It’s fun.

Reminder: Painting classes are back. Starting on Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. You can bring a painting project with you and get some guidance or you can work with the group.

As always, we have Wii bowling on Mondays from 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon. We are looking for a couple of new bowlers to fill vacancies on teams and are always looking for substitutes.

Every Monday from 1-4 p.m., we have Cribbage, Gin Rummy and Canasta. We have Bridge every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Like Dominoes? You can also play Mexican train dominoes starting at 10 a.m. We have Bingo, at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays and right after the monthly lunch

And don’t forget the Drop-in Café Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. Remember, we have Nails by Kendra on the first and third Tuesdays.

Remember the Senior Breakfast ($2) is on the fourth Monday (23rd) at 8:30 a.m. The Monthly Lunch will be on Sept. 18. You get a full meal along with a drink and dessert, all for just $3.

Reminder: Choice Café is now open and serving at noon on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. A lighter, healthier choice meal prepared by the Montachusett Opportunity Council’s kitchen and served congregate-style here at the center. The suggested donation is $2.25 and you must call ahead. We need you to make your reservations by noon on the Monday before the lunch. The menu for September includes soup, seafood salad, tuna salad and pasta salad as well as a drink and dessert.
