HARVARD — The Harvard Schools Parent-Teacher Organization is looking forward to a great 2013-14 school year. The PTO brings parents, teachers, administrators and the community together to share ideas, to build friendships and to support both Hildreth Elementary School and The Bromfield School with educational and community-building opportunities and facilities that are not otherwise provided for by the town’s school budget.
Stay tuned for upcoming membership information and please update your registration information requested by the schools and return the “Nurse’s Emergency Information” sheet so that work on the Student Directory may begin.
We wish your student(s), and every school family, a happy and healthy school year.

HES School Council opening
There is one opening for a School Council parent representative at Hildreth Elementary School. The School Council is a representative, school-building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers and community members. It is required to be established pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C (see the Massachusetts Department of Education website for further information).
The HES School Council will meet approximately once a month after school.
If you are a parent of a HES student, please consider this opportunity to be involved with the school and if interested, send a concise statement of interest to Nancy Lancellotti at alancellot@aol.com.
Kindergarten picnic thank you
The PTO would like to thank Mary Arata and Virg Justicz for serving as this year’s parent coordinators, and Christine Reale for helping to organize the annual PTO sponsored Kindergarten Picnic held just before the start of school. The Kindergarten Picnic provides families a casual, pleasant opportunity to meet other incoming families and kindergarten teachers. The children enjoyed ice-pops, a sunny day and chatting with new friends. The PTO is pleased to bring these types of events to the school community.
