Townsend Rod and Gun Club Open House: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 46 Emery Road, Townsend, off Route 13 (about 1.5 miles south of Townsend center, watch for signs.) The wider community is invited to view and tour what is one of Townsend’s most wonderful resources. View the Trap Range, 100-yard Shooting Range, the Pistol Range, Indoor and Outdoor Archery Ranges, the Trout Pond and the over 300 acres of hunting, hiking, biking and camping facilities. Club members will offer short guided walks around the property.

Learn about Black Powder Sundays and how participants gain knowledge about primitive skills such as fire-making and muzzle-loader shooting, discuss history and keep alive the spirit of our pioneer forefathers. Fishing will be available at the Trout Pond with your own tackle and bait — no fishing license is necessary. The Trap Range will be open for $4 a round. Club Bowling Pin Shoot starts at 9 a.m., and it’s an “open to the public shoot.” Come by, check it out, or better still, sign up and join the fun at $10 for 3 relays.

Be sure to enter your name for a gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods. The club’s updated kitchen will be open for snacks or lunch. Hotdogs and soda are free for Open House guests!
