GARDNER — Theatre at the Mount announces auditions for the fall touring production, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.”

Not only does Alexander wake up with gum in his hair, but his mother forgets to pack him dessert, and his best friend decides he’s not his best friend anymore. And just when it can’t get any worse, there are lima beans for supper and — yuck! — kissing on TV! It’s enough to make anyone want to go to Australia! In this delightful musical, the feisty Alexander learns to deal with life’s obstacles and realizes that bad days happen — even in Australia!

“Alexander” is directed by Emily Smith, with music directed by Steve Bergman and choreography by Chelsea Young. Auditions will be held 6:30 p.m. July 30 and July 31 in Room 182 at Mount Wachusett Community College. The cast calls for an ensemble of eight to 12 members (mix of male and female) ages 14 and up.

A short vocal selection will be taught to all teens who audition; wear comfortable clothing for dance audition; and, expect cold-readings from the script.

Tentative rehearsal schedule is Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Aug. 18.

“Alexander” will be performed at local elementary schools on Oct. 3, 4, 17, 18, 24; and at the Mount at 2 p.m. Oct. 26.
