GROTON — The achievements of two local undergraduates were recognized May 31 during Lawrence Academy’s 220th commencement exercises in Groton.

Junior Declan Stone, the son of Kathleen and Robert Stone of Groton, was presented with The David Soren Yeutter Memorial Award for his appreciation of natural beauty and love for Lawrence Academy. Declan follows his inclination toward the natural world as a participant in the school’s outdoors and mountain biking programs.

Sophomore Cailey Mastrangelo, daughter of Donna and Frank Mastrangelo of Shirley, received The Margaret Price White Award, which symbolizes the faculty’s respect for her motivation, work ethic, and attitude toward all areas of school life. Cailey appears regularly on the school’s honor rolls, plays varsity soccer and basketball, participates in the dance program, and serves the school as a member of the Faculty-Student Senate and as a tour guide for campus visitors.
