TOWNSEND — One of the ways the Townsend community responds to Townsend Ecumenical Outreach fundraising efforts is through the annual summer Penny Drive.

The familiar canisters are at most Townsend businesses. If you have pennies, nickels, dimes or quarters collected at home, please consider donating them to TEO. Your small change or dollars will make a big difference to someone in need.

TEO is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. It grew out of the need to reach out to members of the Townsend community through its affiliated churches. Through TEO, there is a network that offers residents help and aid in an emergency.

You may also donate canned foods, cereals and paper products as well as good gently used clothing directly to TEO at 82 Bayberry Hill Road, West Townsend MA 01474.

For information about TEO, the hours for the monthly food bank and the Clothes Closet, please call 978-597-2549.
