TOWNSEND — On June 13, at approximately 1 p.m., Townsend Police, assisted by Massachusetts State Police, arrested Samantha D. Sorenson, 33, of 27 River St. in Fitchburg, on a warrant. She was charged with unarmed robbery as well as accessory before and after the fact in relationship to a robbery on June 6 at Workers’ Credit Union on Main Street in Townsend.
Sorenson was transported to Ayer District Court following her booking where she was arraigned on the charges and ordered held on $10,000 bail.
Sorenson is the second suspect to be arrested related to the robbery. Police believe a third suspect is also involved.
John J. Martin, 32, who listed his parents’ address of 1 Sumac Dr. in Townsend as his home, was arrested by Townsend Police on June 7. Martin was ordered held on $20,000 bail following his arraignment on Wednesday, June 12, at Ayer District Court.
Townsend Police continue to work the case involving the third suspect and believe that charges will be forthcoming in the near future.
