SHIRLEY — Lucy Arrigo loves history.

Since last January, the home-schooled Ayer teenager has explored the nitty-gritty of preserving and documenting town history by spending her Monday mornings as a volunteer at the Shirley Historical Society Museum.

Lucy has reorganized the alphabetical files in the office and updated the catalog cards that document them. On her final day of volunteering last Monday, museum curator Meredith Marcinkewicz and many of the “Monday regulars” thanked Lucy for her time and assistance with a special lunch, a letter of appreciation from the Historical Society Board of Directors and a letter of reference from the museum curator.

Our good wishes go with Lucy as she moves on with her education!
