TOWNSEND — Police are investigating what caused a vehicle to run into a utility pole on South Harbor Road on Saturday afternoon. The accident send both the driver and the passenger to the Leominster Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident happened at about 2:15 p.m. near 72 South Harbor Rd., according to the Police Department. The 1999 Lincoln Town Car was traveling south on the road and struck a telephone pole, causing minor damage to the structure. The identity of the driver and passengers was not available.
