Open Mic Night

LIVE@Lawrence Library’s Open Mic Night will begin at 7 p.m. Join DJ Tyler on the second Friday of every month. Musicians, singers, poets — share your talent! All ages/all instruments welcome. The piano is always available. Free and open to the public. Bring a friend. Stop by to perform or just listen.

Light refreshments, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Coffee provided by Starbucks Coffee, Nashua, N.H.


Opening reception

Photography from the New England Wildflower Society will be featured in the Lawrence Library In the Art Gallery through noon on May 31. An opening reception will be held today from noon to 2 p.m.

Roast turkey breast dinner

Pepperell United Methodist Church is hosting a Roast Turkey Breast Dinner with all the fixings and freshly baked desserts from 4:30-6 p.m. Eat-in or take-out. Please come join us for this fabulous meal and wonderful friends. The cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $4 for children. You are automatically entered to win the door prize with the purchase of your supper ticket. Drawing will be held that night.

Parking is at a premium, so please car pool if at all possible. The church is located at 1 Chapel Place, Pepperell (one block behind Dunkin Donuts).


Celebrate spring

Celebrate the season by making a May Basket at the Pepperell Senior Center. Dixie Piccard, owner of the Bronze Bell in Pepperell, is coming at 12:15 p.m. to help create floral May baskets. Cost is $10 and all supplies will be provided, including the basket and the beautiful fresh cut seasonal flowers.

Dixie will show you how to arrange the flowers to enhance their charm. Sign up to ensure there will be plenty of supplies by call the Pepperell Senior Center at 978-433-0326. Please don’t miss out on this great opportunity.


Attorney at Senior Center

Pepperell Senior Center will host guest speaker, Attorney Aleta Manugian on May 17 at 9:30 a.m. following the monthly Rotary Breakfast. Aleta will be discussing how to protect your home assets, power-of-attorney and health care proxies and reverse mortgages. Plant sale

Pepperell Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale on the Lawrence Library lawn from 8 a.m. to noon (no early birds, please!). Perennials dug from Pepperell gardens plus annuals, herbs, vegetables and hanging plants, all at reasonable prices.


Well adult clinic

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Pepperell Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center on Senior Center Road (off 37 Nashua Road). Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening and diet teaching. No appointment is necessary. Golf tourney

The Pepperell Lions Club will sponsor the 14th Annual Ray Blood Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, June 3, at the Overlook Golf Club in Hollis, NH.

Starting time is 8:30 a.m. and the cost is $115 per golfer. Fee includes golf, four hole-in-one contests, longest drive, straightest drive, four closest to the pin, awards ceremony, and raffle prizes.
