Well adult clinic
Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ashby Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public on Thursday, May 16, from noon to 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 361 New Ipswich Road. Drop in for blood pressure, pulse screening and diet teaching. No appointment necessary. The Townsend VFW Post 6538 Ladies Auxiliary will host a Meat Bingo in the 491 Main Street, West Townsend, VFW Function Hall on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m.
Calling All Crafters for 32nd Annual Craft Fair
Amateur and professional craftspeople are invited to display and sell their original works at Townsend’s 32nd Annual Craft Fair, Saturday, May 18.
Registration is $20 for a 12-foot-by-12-foot site. Fifty-five craftspeople can be accommodated in a friendly and busy outdoor area on the Common, located at the junction of Routs 13 and 119 in Townsend Center.
The fair is sponsored by Townsend United Methodist Church and is a long time favorite for crafters and fair goers. It will offer crafts from all over New England, food-court, baked goods, silent auction, plenty of free parking, and restroom facilities. Townsend Methodist Church to Host Vacation Bible School
Townsend United Methodist Church is hosting a Vacation Bible School on Monday, August 5, through Friday, August 9, from 9-11:30 a.m.
The curriculum, “Everywhere Fun Fair” takes children to a global celebration with the look and feel of a world’s fair. Children will make friends with neighbors around the world and discover that God’s love can be found everywhere, including their own neighborhoods. Interactive Bible storytelling, games, rockin’ music, super science, cool crafts, and more are all part of the week long program.
The VBS is open to all children of the area ages 4-12. The cost is $5 for the entire week and pre-registration is requested.
The church is located at 265 Main St., at the corner of Routs 13 and 119 in Townsend Center.
