Shirley’s Jennifer Goulart names Nashoba Tech student of the month

WESTFORD — Jennifer Goulart of Shirley has been named a Student of the Month at for April Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

Jennifer, daughter of Paul and Maria Goulart, is a senior in the Design & Visual Communications program. She is credited with being the driving force behind getting the 2013 yearbook completed on time. Jennifer is on the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is a member of the Chorus and Drama Club. She is also a consistent honor-roll student.

As a junior, she was a Kick-Off Mentor, helping incoming freshmen become acclimated to the school. Also as a junior, she won the Most Valuable Designer at the Arts Awards ceremony. Jennifer is a three-sport athlete, competing for the soccer, basketball and spring track teams. This is her second time being named Student of the Month, and she has also been honored as an Athlete of the Month. She plans to attend Fitchburg State University in the fall to major in Exercise and Sports Science.

Jennifer was nominated by two teachers. Design & Visual Communications Instructor Derik Rochon wrote: “Jennifer took the yearbook over and got it back on track.” Cosmetology Instructor Donna McMahon, who is also the adviser for the Class of 2013, wrote: “She has a positive attitude and great work ethic. She worked tirelessly on the yearbook, senior posters and designs for the senior T-shirts. She is a great role model and an excellent representative of the Class of 2013.”
