On Saturday, May 18, the Townsend Police Department will be holding a memorial dedication of the new police memorial which was erected and donated to the Townsend Police Department by Andrew Shepherd as his Eagle Scout project.

The dedication will be held at 10 a.m. followed by tours of the police/communications facility at 70 Brookline Road in Townsend. Light refreshments will be served.

The dedication of this memorial coincides with National Police Week, which runs this year from May 12-18 and which honors those in America’s law enforcement community.

The general public is cordially invited to attend this event to show support for the officers of the Townsend Police Department and in recognition of those who have made personal sacrifices in the interest of public safety and a safer community as well as recognizing Andrew for his efforts.
