HARVARD — Chris Herren, a former player with the NBA’s Boston Celtics, will draw on his own experience to discuss substance abuse at 6 p.m. Monday, May 13, in Cronin Auditorium.

Herren, who struggled with substance abuse himself, now works to educate youth and at-risk populations on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and provides techniques to address social pressure in the communities and families.

The forum is recommended for kids 8th grade and older due to graphic nature of the content. Teens and their parents are encouraged to attend, as are interested members of the community. Sponsors include the Harvard Trust, the Harvard PTO, Emerson Hospital, the Harvard Lions Club, Celebration, The Harvard Road Race Association and SADD.
