SHIRLEY — The day after the April 30 Town Election in which he defeated opponent Enrico Cappucci to win a one-year seat on the Board of Selectmen, Robert Prescott said he was tired after a long, late night waiting for the results to come in but was gratified by the outcome.

I’d like to thank the voters of Shirley for their support in this election,” Prescott said. “I’d like to thank Rico for his years of service to the town and a spirited campaign.”

Prescott said that moving ahead with plans to bring in much-needed revenue by sparking new business activity and building up the town’s commercial tax base would be one of his first priorities and he hopes to sit down with the Economic Development Committee soon to talk about it. “I have a lot of ideas,” he said.

I look forward to working with the current Select board and departments in creating a direction for our town.”
