Johnson for Planning Board: Skills, dedication, leadership

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Bill has the skills, dedication, and leadership.

We need an individual like Bill Johnson for Planning Board. Bill has demonstrated the needed leadership and coordination skills for this position.

In his capacity as the project manager of the $1.1 M stormwater control project for Bare Hill Pond, Bill has worked diligently to get a project constructed to protect one of the Town’s most valuable asset. Bill always worked with a positive and pleasant attitude while keeping focused on the final and most complex portion of the project, the collection of stormwater at the boat launch at the town beach. He kept the project moving forward to meet all the important deadlines.

Bill enthusiastically pulled together a large group of town departments, committees, and organizations, including the Conservation Commission, the Park and Recreation Commission, The Bare Hill Pond Committee, Harvard Public Works, Bare Hill Rowing, and citizens who use the pond for boating, to collectively work with DEP and consultant Horsley Witten to reach consensus on the overall project’s details. Bill worked as the grant manager and “clerk of the works” to bring the project to its soon-to-be completed status, arranging for a large amount of the project to be covered by grants. With Bill’s help on this project the Town has gained a newly renovated, much improved, and environmentally responsible boat launch area that will be more functional and attractive.

With such dedication and leadership how can the town go wrong with an individual such as Bill working on the town’s planning issues? Bill is the natural choice for Planning Board.
