GROTON — GDSTEM invites you to celebrate the accomplishments of the Groton-Dunstable Regional High School Robotics team (“the Robotomies”) on Wednesday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Black Box Theater, 703 Chicopee Row.

Meet the team’s robot, “Mr. Stubbs,” fresh from his entry in March’s Regional FIRST Robotics Competition in Manchester, N.H., where the team proudly took home the Innovation in Control Award for having the best autonomous robot. Mr. Stubbs received impressive scores for repeatedly climbing a 90-inch pyramid in less than two minutes.

Hear from student team members and their mentors about the process of designing, building, programming and testing their robot, and see videos from the competition and live demonstrations of Mr. Stubbs in action. This program is open to all ages, but is especially geared to middle school and high school students and their families. Light refreshments will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation at 7 p.m. For information visit gdstem.org or the team website, team1277.org.
