HARVARD – A light wind on an otherwise sunny Saturday took a brush fire a little further than planned in Still River. Fire trucks lined the driveway at 232 Still River Road, across the street from Harvard Fire Station No. 2 on Saturday afternoon. More than an acre of land was scorched as the wind drove the fire towards St. Benedict Abbey’s open lands.

More water arrived on the scene, courtesy of Harvard Fire Engine No. 1. The extra water power brought the blaze quickly under control. It appeared that there were no injuries associated with the brush fire.
