DEVENS — It was a party — with heart — when more than 150 clients, hotel guests, local residents and staff filled the Hilton Garden Inn at Devens Common on Nov. 8 to celebrate the hotel’s first anniversary.

Three members of the Marine Corps Reserves were on hand to accept guests’ “currency” for raffle tickets: a toy, to be donated to Toys for Tots. Enough toys were collected to fill four boxes, and some lucky guests left with prizes, including a 65-inch LED TV. The Hilton Garden Inn also raised $600 for Toys for Tots.

“We were very proud to celebrate our first year by hosting Toys for Tots and collecting all of these toys for kids in our community,” said Jon Mehlmann, general manager. “It has been a great first year for the hotel, and we’re looking forward to many more.”
