North Middlesex got a bit closer when Brandon Lambert added a 78-yard touchdown run with 1:43 to play to close out his stellar high school career.
The touchdown run propelled Lambert to offensive MVP honors for North Middlesex. Dolciotto took home the defensive MVP award for the Patriots. Sarnoski earned offensive MVP for Nashoba, while Rothfuss was named the defensive MVP of the game.
Despite Thursday’s loss and a losing overall record, the North Middlesex football program appears to be headed in the right direction.
“We’ve come a long way,” said North Middlesex coach Sandy Ruggles. “We’ve reached the level of respectability. The senior class has done a great job for us and now we hand the baton over to the next group to try to make us better for next year. But for right now, we’ve got a great group of kids and it’s a sad moment when you have to break and leave this field.”
