On Saturday, Nov. 10, the North Middlesex Midget Cowboy Cheer team became Pop Warner New England Champions and qualified to compete at Pop Warner National Championships at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in lake Buena Vista, Florida, during the second week of December. We need to raise $17,000 in the next few weeks in order to send them on this journey.
I first met this extraordinary group of young ladies in 2007 when my daughter started as a Mitey Mite Cheerleader. They have participated in many charity events over the years including Relay for Life, Rett Syndrome Rally and Walk for Autism Speaks as well as volunteered for many local fundraising events.
As you know, Pop Warner is a great nonprofit organization for children that accepts everyone and strives to make its programs affordable for families b keeping registration fees low and offering scholarships. Pop Warner also requires it participants to maintain academic standards n order to develop well-rounded young men and women. This is especially important in communities like ours that have limited resources.
Being able to coach this team and watch them grow over the years has been a privilege. I speak for all the coaches when I say how extremely proud we are not only of their New England Champion title, but of the smart, funny, caring, dedicated young women they have become.
Please give what you can to help these girls; they deserve it.
Checks can be mailed to: NMPW P.O. Box 59, Townsend, MA 01469 or donate online at www.nmpopwarner.com.
My sincere thanks.
