GROTON — To follow up on the March 31 walk, the Conservation Commission invites abutters and interested members of the public to a site walk on Dec. 1, at 9 a.m.

The walk will begin in the field across from 653 Martins Pond Road. The town’s consulting forester, Bay State Forestry Service, will be present to outline the forestry management techniques planned for this land.

The beautiful 36-acre property has shore frontage on Baddacook Pond and was selectively logged in 2001. This is a very scenic conservation area with a wonderful mix of habitats and vistas – vernal pools, fields, woods, and the pond. The natural and cultural history of this area offers visitors a rich sense of Groton’s past.

Please join the commission and Bay State Forestry Service to learn how this forest will be sustainably managed for future generations.
