Due to the potential for severe weather, the first adjourned session of the Fall Town Meeting, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., will briefly convene only to act on a motion to adjourn until Saturday, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m. in the Middle School Auditorium.
The likelihood that the weather will create hazardous conditions for voters on Monday made it prudent to take this unusual step and to make this announcement as early as possible (on Monday) in order to allow sufficient time to notify the public.
An improvement in either the forecast or the weather after the publication of this announcement will not change the plans to act only on a motion to adjourn until Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 9 a.m., in the Middle School Auditorium. Voters and town officials should plan to attend Town Meeting on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 9 a.m. to address the remaining warrant articles, 8-25.
Saturday, Nov. 3, was selected as the alternate meeting date, rather than the following Monday, when the Town Clerk’s Office will be preparing for the next day’s Presidential Election.
