FITCHBURG — IC Federal Credit Union has pledged $50,000 to the Exceptional Care…Here Campaign for HealthAlliance Hospital’s Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center located on the hospital’s Burbank Campus in Fitchburg. “This is such a needed service in our community,” said Judy Kaddy, senior vice president of lending and marketing at IC, “and we are proud to do our part by supporting this new cancer center.” Tony Cali, president and CEO of IC added, “We applaud the tremendous efforts of HealthAlliance Hospital in making this a reality.”
The Exceptional Care…Here Campaign is funding the expansion of the center and a new state-of-the-art linear accelerator (LINAC) that offers image-guided radiation therapy, greatly improving the accuracy and precision of radiation therapy. This new LINAC is one of only two in Massachusetts. The campaign is also funding expanded services for patients: a patient navigator program to guide patients and families through the journey of cancer care and a survivorship program to provide personalized long-term care plans for survivors. The campaign is also supporting the expansion of the center’s Complementary Care Center, which provides services that include yoga, Reiki, massage, acupuncture and other therapies that help to alleviate some of the uncomfortable side affects of cancer treatment.
“We are so grateful for IC Credit Union’s gift to our Exceptional Care…Here Campaign. Community support such as this for our Patient-Centered Care Programs has allowed us to focus on the needs of our patients and initiate activities that directly benefit them and support their cancer care,” stated Mary Jane Ruth, RN, MS, OCN, director, Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center.
