The last day to register to vote for the presidential election, if you are not already a registered voter at your current address is Oct. 17. You must be a U.S. citizen and 18 years old by election day to register to vote.

The Town Clerk’s office in Townsend will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Oct. 17 for voter registrations. You may register to vote whenever our office is open or you may print out a form at the State’s website (www.MASS.Gov) type in voter registration in the search area and click on the PDF mail in form — print it out, fill it out and mail it in or drop it off.

If you have any questions call 978-597-1704. We will be voting at the High School for the Presidential Election on Nov. 6 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. If this is your first time voting you will be required to show an ID on election day.
