Nashoba Valley Medical Center plans road race, health fair


Nashoba Valley Medical Center is hosting a 5k Hunger Run road race and a Family Health and Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The Hunger Run will begin at 9 a.m. and travel along the scenic back roads of Ayer and Groton. The race will finish back at Nashoba Valley Medical Center where a Family Health and Harvest Festival awaits. Children are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy the “Kids-in-Costumes Half Mile Run.” Walkers are also welcome.

The cost to register for the 5K race is $20. The half-mile run and walkers’ fee is $5. All proceeds from the event will benefit Loaves & Fishes, a non-profit organization that provides food and support to those in need.

Runners are asked to bring one nonperishable food item for Loaves & Fishes. To register for the race, please visit The first 100 runners to register will receive a long sleeve T-shirt.

Prizes will be awarded for first place male and first place female.

The Family Health and Harvest Festival beings at10 a.m. and the festivities will continue until 2 p.m.

The Nashoba Valley Medical Center is located at 200 Groton Road, Ayer.
