GROTON — The Senior Center has both a day trip and a lunch trip coming up in September which have space available.
The day trip is a trip by Curmudgeon and Friends on a fall foliage cruise on Wednesday, Sept. 26. You may have seen foliage from a car or a train, but have you ever viewed the colors of the trees from the water? Come along and enjoy the seacoast’s most popular fall foliage cruise. The narrated cruise is about 2.5 hours long and will be a chance to leaf peep along this largely undeveloped shoreline. The cruise departs from Portsmouth, but the trip itself leaves from the Groton Senior Center. Depending on the tides, the cruise will either travel through Great Bay or along the Cocheco River. Before the cruise, be treated to a late breakfast at a restaurant yet to be determined. The cost for the trip is $48, which includes the cruise, late breakfast and transportation. Payment is required with sign-up. Checks should be made payable to Jay Darrin.
The Senior Center’s monthly lunch trip for September will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, at Bailey’s Bar & Grill. Bailey’s offers three choices: petit haddock, pasta and meatballs or Chef Paul’s meat loaf. Cost is $15 for your entrée, coffee/soft drink, tax, gratuity, and chef’s choice dessert. Take the Council on Aging’s van for $3 or drive yourself. Van departures from the Senior Center and home pick-ups are available.
Call the Groton Senior Center at 978-448-1170 to sign-up for either trip.
