Townsend Public Library Knitters Group: Townsend Public Library Knitters Group! All Levels Welcome!! We meet every second Tuesday of the month! Meeting Hall B Hosted by Theresa Sawyer and Ellen Duval ! They always welcome beginners who want to learn to knit, ages 10 years and up! NEW!! Ready, Set, Read! A pre-school storytime for ages 4-5. Similar to our Beginner’s Book Club, this storytime will feature activities for older children, pre-reading skill building, and early literacy tips for parents. Townsend Library Genealogy Club: Are you interested in genealogy? Join our group of researchers who will meet every second Thursday of the month! We will provide laptops (or you can bring your own) and access to The Ancestry.com database and the Heritage quest databases. Share stories, ideas and collaborate with others. Books and Blocks Storytime: Ages 1-3. Join Miss Karen for stories then play with blocks! Great for building fine motor skills and pre-literacy. Parents must remain with their children throughout the program. No registration Required! Time: 10:30 a.m.

Saturday Sept. 15

SAT PREP CLASS — English (First class is Sept. 8): If you are taking the SAT this October or November, come to this series of free prep classes. You will practice each section of the test, and learn skills to help you with any trouble spots. Please register on-line, and plan on coming to all 4 classes. You do not need to register for each class separately. Funded by the Friends of the Townsend Public Library. Fall Into Shape at the Townsend Library! Join us for a fun interactive weight loss challenge! The classes are weekly, for 12 weeks. Participants learn to develop realistic, life-long plan for weight loss and physical activity by learning the latest, information about good nutrition, digestive health, reading food labels, portion control, how and why we hold body fat and much more. The class costs $39 for the entire 12 weeks with $10 donated in the participant’s name to the Fit-Kids Foundation for the prevention of childhood obesity. The remainder of the money is rewarded back to the participants in prizes and cash rewards.
