AYER/SHIRLEY — The proposed renovation and addition project submitted to the Massachusetts School Building Authority earlier this month is for a total footprint of approximately 140,000 square feet, while the existing building is 145,000 square feet. Thus, the renovated building and addition will be smaller than it is now.

According to School Committee Vice Chairman and Building Committee member Patrick Kelly, the new footprint is “several thousand square feet less” than the existing building, whose current size is 145,000 square feet.
