The summer reading program ends at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, after which the summer reading prizes will be put away.

Those who have read more than 30 hours and earned a bookplate can stop by the library starting on Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Oct. 15 to choose the library book in which their bookplate will go. Readers must stop counting hours at 9 p.m. on Aug. 16.

You do not have to come in to the library that day to confirm your hours. Library staff can access your online account or review your paper logs after summer reading officially ends.

Storytimes will resume the week of Sept. 17. Check the calendar at www.harvardpubliclibrary.org for exact days and times of fall storytimes.

Saturday Storytimes, ages 4 to 7, at 11 a.m. through Aug. 11: Teen volunteers lead these fun drop-in, half-hour Saturday Storytimes for children and their caregivers. The theme for Aug. 11 is frogs. No sign-up is required.

Summer Reading Finale Picnic, all ages, Wednesday, Aug. 15, noon to 1 p.m.: Celebrate your reading success at the picnic on the library lawn. Bring your own sandwiches, and we’ll supply beverages, chips, and dessert. Please pre-register. (Rain Date: 8/16)

Family Movie Night! Movie is Rated G, all ages, Thursday, Aug. 16, 6:30 p.m.: Popcorn and water will be served. Please pre-register, so we know how much popcorn to buy.
