“Under the Stars” Young Adult Summer Reading Program Events*:

YA Pizza & Movie Night: A Knight’s Tale, Thurs, Aug 16, 6:30-8:45. MPAA Rated PG-13. Grades 6-12.

YA Pizza & Movie Night: The Hunger Games, Wed, Aug 22, 6-8:30. MPAA Rated PG-13. Grades 6-12.

Music in the Park until Dark, Thurs, Aug 23, 6:30-8. Young musicians are invited to perform at the Gazebo in Lawrence Park (behind the library). Or come to support your friends and enjoy a night of music. Grades 6-12. If it rains, meet in the library’s Sibley Hall.

“Dream Big: Read!” Summer Reading Program Events* for Children:

Bats! Wed, Aug 15, 7-8:30. Learn all about bats with renowned New England Naturalist John Foster, then venture into the field with John’s ultrasonic listening device to hear local bats! Ages 8 to adult.**

Tanglewood Marionettes* present “Sleeping Beauty,” Thurs, Aug 16, 7-8 at the GROTON COUNTRY CLUB. Beautifully hand-crafted marionettes are brought to life as the dramatic classic tale unfolds. Ages 4+ No registration.
