Donations, soldier’s names, volunteers needed for Aug. 3 Packing Party

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

PEPPERELL — Friday’s Veteran’s Breakfast will be a packing party to send off packages for troops abroad.

The event is being put on by the Pepperell Army Community Covenant in partnership with the Pepperell Senior Center and Rep. Sheila Harrington’s “Operation Patriot Pride.” Volunteers are encouraged to join the groups for a free breakfast being served at 9:30 a.m. Packing will start shortly thereafter.

Donated items will be divided by table, and participants will go around picking from food, entertainment, reading and other types of things to fill boxes. Other volunteers will be filling out shipping labels.

“Operation Patriot Pride” will be sponsoring the breakfast and shipping costs. Donations are welcome at the senior center beginning next week on Monday Aug. 30 through to the morning of the event.

In addition, the covenant is looking to add to it’s list of active duty soldiers from Pepperell and the surrounding towns.

For more information, contact the Pepperell Senior Center at 978-433-0326. Names of soldiers or questions should be directed to Stephen Themelis of the Pepperell Army Community Covenant at jthemelis@charter.net.
