TOWNSEND — The Townsend Police Department has arrested two suspects relative to property damage that occurred on Turnpike Road July 19 at approximately 10:20 a.m.

The victim reported BB gun shots at his home and vehicle and broken windows. Further information provided by the victim enabled officers to locate the suspects and take them into custody. The suspects were mobile, operating a 1996 Red Toyota Avalon, and were accompanied by three juveniles.

The TPD has investigated similar reports of vandalism over the last week amounting to thousands of dollars worth of damage. In addition to Townsend, both Pepperell and Groton are investigating similar crimes. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by by Officer Kimberly Mattson, who is collaborating with officers from Pepperell and Groton to establish any connection between this incident and the recent reported vandalism.

Suspects arrested:

Kevin Hanley, 19, 119 South Road, Pepperell; charged with defacing property, speeding, stop sign violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Austin Robert Stockenberg, 17, 31 Halmstead St., Worcester; charged with disorderly conduct, witness intimidation, minor in possession of a BB gun, discharging BB gun in a public way, assault with a dangerous weapon, throwing object onto public way, defacing person property.

Suspects were arraigned July 20 at Ayer District Court and will be directed to appear in court on a future date.

The juvenile suspects will be charged separately, and will be summoned to Lowell Juvenile Court.
