Townsend Methodist Church to Host Vacation Bible School

Townsend United Methodist Church is hosting a Vacation Bible School Monday, Aug. 6, through Friday, August 10, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The curriculum, “Operation Overboard — Dare To Go Deep With God,” will give children an extraordinary adventure filled with fun, excitement, and creative Bible-based activities.

VBS decorations, activities, crafts, skits, games, music and snacks are all part of the week long program. Dive in and discover God’s underwater universe! Explore the depths of God’s Word at VBS 2012.

The VBS is open to all children of the area ages 4 -12. The cost is $5 for the entire week and pre-registration is requested.

The church is at 265 Main St. at the corner of routes 13 and 119 in Townsend Center — the “meeting house church on the hill.”

The Friends of the Townsend Seniors are sponsoring a trip to Foxwoods Casino, Thursday, August 16. The bus will leave the Senior Center, 16 Dudley Road, at 8:15 a.m. and return late afternoon, at approximately 6 p.m. The price is $28 per person. This trip is open to all Townsend residents as well as all adults from the surrounding towns. Come on along and bring a friend!
