The Summer Reading Programs continue through Aug. 17. There’s still time to sign up for reading, prizes and great programs brought to you by the GPL Endowment Trust.

“Under the Stars” young adult Summer Reading Program events*:

Pizza and movie night: “August Rush,” Wednesday, Aug. 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Separated from his parents at birth, August Rush uses his remarkable musical talent to seek them. MPAA: Rated PG. Grades 6 through 12.

Game night: Thursday, Aug. 2, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Laptops, Wii, and DS Lites will be set up for play with friends. Light refreshments. Grades 6 through 12.

Craft night: Stick It! Wednesday, Aug. 8, 7 to 8 p.m. We’ll have lots of colorful duct tape on hand so you can make a wallet, belt, flower, purse or other fun novelty item. Grades 6 through 12.

Mars or Bust: Thursday, Aug. 9, 7 to 8 p.m. The Aldrich Astronomical Society offers a fascinating slide show and hands-on displays on the human exploration of Mars. Grades 5 and above. Parents welcomed.

“Dream Big: Read!” Summer Reading Program events* for children:

Star Wars Symposium by Peter Struzziero: Saturday, July 28, 11 a.m. to noon.*** Dress as a character for the costume contest, bring show-and-tell items, play video games and more. Ages 5 and older with a parent.

Storyteller Diane Edgecomb’s Magical Bedtime Tales: Tuesday, July 31, 7 to 8 p.m. Come to this fun-filled performance filled with magical tales sure to bring about sweet dreams! All ages.**

Rockin’ All Night at the Library: Wednesday, Aug. 1, 11 a.m. to noon.*** Award-winning husband-wife duo Two of a Kind presents an interactive concert with songs, sign language, puppets and more. All ages.**

Pajama story time and stuffed animal sleepover: Thursday, Aug. 2, 7 to 8 p.m. Bring a special stuffed animal for a story, leave it for a sleepover. Come back the next day for your friend and a take-home surprise about the overnight. Ages 3 and older. **

Movie: “We Bought a Zoo,” Tuesday, Aug. 7, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Rated PG. All ages.

Tom Knight puppets: Wednesday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m. to noon. Lots of fun stories, skits, plus sing-along songs and simple dance steps for the audience. Ages 3 and older.**

The World of Owls: *** Friday, Aug. 10, 11 a.m. to noon. Wingmasters presents a fascinating program with a variety of live owls. Ages 5 and older. **
