DEVENS — The new events and marketing manager at the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce is no stranger to the chamber business.
Marissa Torres brings the event planning and marketing experience she acquired at the North Central Mass. Chamber of Commerce to Nashoba at just the right time.
“Marissa is a great fit for our chamber as we focus on high-quality, relevant events for our businesses and serve the needs of our increasing membership. This is especially important as we welcome more than 300 new members who are transitioning to our chamber from the former Wachusett Chamber of Commerce,” said Melissa Fetterhoff, executive cirector and CEO of the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Last month, the Clinton-based Wachusett Chamber of Commerce closed its doors, and the NVCoC board of directors voted to honor the memberships of the affected businesses at no additional cost. Welcoming the new businesses and expanding the chamber’s calendar to include Clinton-area events have become priorities.
Torres, who started at Nashoba in mid-June, was previously the Events & Marketing Communications Manager at the North Central Chamber where she was responsible for all aspects of Chamber event planning and promotion.
She is a native of Fall River and a graduate of Fitchburg State.
“I am very excited about the future of the Nashoba Chamber with its new members and strong reputation for providing invaluable service to its members,” Torres said. “I think there is also room for growth by expanding our young professionals outreach and integrating the previous service area with the Wachusett region.”
The Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit business advocacy, community and economic development association committed to the support of its members’ growth and success and the development of a positive economic climate.
