PEPPERELL — Pepperell’s Charter Commission will be holding a public hearing on Wed. June 6 at 7 p.m.

The hearing will take place in town hall conference room A. The public is invited to attend.

A commission of nine members has been meeting to assess the governmental organization of the town. Pepperell is currently run through a system of bylaws.

After being established at the Annual Town Election on April 23, 2012, under the Home Rule Procedures Act, the group has begun an process of reviewing town charters from around Massachusetts.

The purpose of the hearing is to “solicit the views comments, opinions, and proposals from the public for consideration by the charter commission.”

Over an 18 month period they may draw up and propose a new charter for the Town of Pepperell, if deemed appropriate, .
