Applications being accepted for Ayer’s reps. to Nashoba Valley School Committee


With the approval of Ayer’s Town Meeting on May 14, along with the unanimous approval of the Town Meetings of the member towns of the Nashoba Valley Technical High School, the town of Ayer will become a member town of the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District effective July 1. This membership entitles the town of Ayer to one representative on the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District Committee as well as one alternate representative.

The town of Ayer is now accepting letters of interest with accompanying credentials for residents in Ayer who are interested in serving as Ayer’s primary representative and Ayer’s alternate representative to the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District Committee.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; have a primary residence in the town of Ayer; registered to vote in Ayer; and successfully pass a CORI (criminal records background check).

Applicants will be selected by a majority vote of a Selection Committee which is comprised of the Ayer Board of Selectmen; Ayer-Shirley Regional School Committee and the Ayer town moderator.

Interested applicants should submit their letter of intent with accompanying credentials addressed to: The Nashoba Valley Technical High School Committee Selection Committee, c/o Ayer Town Administrator, 1 Main St., Ayer, MA 01432 and/or to, no later than Friday, June 15 at 5 p.m.

Applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and applicants will be publicly interviewed by the Selection Committee. A final selection for each position will be by a simple majority vote of the Selection Committee.
