FITCHBURG _ The Bromfield boys indoor track team romped past six league rivals to earn a MidWach C championship at Fitchburg High School on Feb. 1.
The easy victory in the league championships came on the heels of an outstanding unbeaten regular season.
The Trojans dominated throughout, capturing six first-place finishes as they rolled up 112.16 points. Oakmont was second with 52.5 points, followed by Littleton (49.16), Murdock (48.16), Lunenburg (45), Gardner (41), and Narragansett (24).
The 1000 meters was a key event for the Trojans as they posted a 1-2-3 sweep. Nick Kronauer blazed to victory with a clocking of 2:50.91, ahead of teammates Paul Malloy (second, 2:51.30), and Price Day (third, 2:58.60). Bromfield piled up 24 points in that event.
Kronauer also captured the mile run in 4:48.08.
Bromfield came up big in the 2-mile with Ellis Toll finishing on top in 10:25.72, and Day adding a third in 10:38.19.
Patrick Griffin struck gold in the 600 meters, finishing in 1:34.38, while the Bromfield relay teams all enjoyed strong days with two first-place finishes and a second.
The 4 X 200 meter relay team of Dan Colony, Brendan Beale, Sam Beebe and Roniel Foster rolled to victory with a clocking of 1:49.65.
The 4 X 400 meter relay team of Griffin, Toll, Jeff Adelson and Malloy finished on top in 4:08.84.
The 4 X 800 meter relay team of Will Sullebarger, Cole Stecyk, Phillip Kuong and Graham Fedderson finished second in 10:55.26.
Deji Oyekunle finished second in the shot put with a toss of 40-1.
Colony picked up a third-place finish for the Trojans in the 300 meters in 40.24.
The Trojans had a pair of point scorers in the 55 meter high hurdles as Jake Valladares finished fifth with a time of 9.71 and Beebe was sixth with a time of 9.77.
Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans were a pair of sixth-place finishes – Beale in the 300 meters and Valladares in the high jump.
