WESTFORD — The freshman class in the Hotel & Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts programs at Nashoba Valley Technical High School will host the second annual Freshman Buffet on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the in-school restaurant, The Elegant Chef.

The all-you-can-eat buffet will have an Italian theme, with Hotel & Restaurant Management freshmen in charge of marketing the event and doing the food-costing and other planning duties, and Culinary Arts freshmen preparing, cooking and serving the food.

“The Freshman Buffet provides an opportunity for parents of the freshmen to come in and see how their kids are doing in their technical area, and it gives the public a chance to come in and see what the restaurant has to offer,” said Chef-Instructor Steve Whiting, who noted that the restaurant is open to the public for lunch, Tuesday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., when school is in session.

The buffet will include all courses, from soup to nuts, or, as Whiting put it, “from minestrone to cannolis.”

Carrabba’s restaurant in Tyngsborough, a business partner of the school, is donating several items to the Freshman Buffet.

Tickets are $12 and are available by calling The Elegant Chef at 978-692-9958.
