GROTON — A minor operator was cited for speeding, marked lanes violations and operating to endanger following a Monday afternoon accident on Old Ayer Road in Groton.

The minor was operating a black 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that crossed the center line and hit a silver 1999 Subaru operated by Justin Helou of Shelters Road in Groton.

Upon impact with the car, the truck overturned onto its roof, causing the truck bed to come to rest above the roof of the driver’s side door of the car.

Helou was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to the Groton Police Department.

The Groton Police Department received assistance at the scene from Ayer Police and the Groton and Ayer Fire departments.

The accident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. and closed the roadway to through-traffic for at least an hour and a half during the evening commute as the wreck was cleared.
