Since 1983, Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has served families in our area with food and kindness.
Without us, many of our neighbors would go without proper nutrition, or have to choose between paying for medication, heating oil, rent, or groceries. The number of households seeking our help is rising dramatically — up 19 percent in the last year alone. Coming through our doors to ask for help is a very hard first step for many of our clients to take. No matter how many families take that step, we want to be there.
Loaves & Fishes relies on the generosity of our community to continue to offer food to those who need it. Like our client families, we are feeling the pinch of a down economy, and though demand for food is growing, our donations are seeing a decline. This time, it is we who must ask for help.
Please donate to Loaves & Fishes this holiday season. It doesn’t take much to make a real difference. We buy in bulk and really know how to stretch a dollar. As little as $25 can provide one of your neighbors with five days’ worth of nutritious food. To donate by mail, send a check to Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Inc., P.O. Box 1, Ayer MA 01432. To donate online, see our website www.LoavesFishesPantry.org.
To donate food, you can find drop boxes at post offices or supermarkets, or bring your donation to the Pantry at 234 Barnum Road, Devens, during our open hours. Loaves & Fishes is a 501(c) 3 organization and your gift is tax-deductible.
Please help us spread the word that we’re working to ensure every member of our community is taken care of, even in the most difficult times. And if you need our help, please come to any open Pantry session with a recent utility bill or piece of delivered mail from one of the six towns we serve: Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton, or Shirley. There are no income requirements to receive food, and we have never turned away anyone who asked for our help.
Thank you for helping us to help our neighbors,
Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Inc.
