The Shirley Seniors Friendship Fund — with assistance from the Shirley Charitable Foundation, Brian Anderson, Santa Claus and his Elves, and in collaboration with Shirley Friendship Fund, Shirley Council on Aging, Loaves and Fishes and Fidelity Bank — have the honor this year of sending out a small token of appreciation to all Shirley residents over age 80.

The gift bags, beautifully decorated and assembled by the children in Susan Noll’s after-school program at Lura White School, include bookmarks made by children in Elaine Nogueira’s seventh- and eighth-grade art enrichment classes at Ayer Shirley Regional Middle School.

Also, included in the gift bags is information of services for various programs and volunteer opportunities.

Most bags were delivered on Sunday by a great cross-section of elves from various neighborhoods in town. Deliveries continue this week.

The Shirley Seniors Friendship Committee wishes to thank the donors, volunteers and especially the children for their participation and good will.

Sincerely,

Patty MacDonald
