TOWNSEND — The Board of Selectmen and town administrator expressed concern for openings on town committees Tuesday.

“With two vacancies on the Energy Committee, we are operating on a minimum quorum,” Sheehan said.

“We’d certainly like to have more involvement.”

In an effort to move towards a green community designation, the Energy Committee is serving a vital role by bringing in more energy efficient installations and practices to the town. The committee has been asked to work with other groups to look at progressing this goal of cleaner energy and more efficient, money saving practices.

Sheehan says that experience with utilities, facilities management is a plus, but anyone who has a vested interest in the topic can join.

Interested parties should contact Town Administrator Andy Sheehan at 978-597-1700 ext 1701 or through email at asheehan@townsend.ma.us.
