Townsend resident Brendan Pinkham has completed the Army’s 19D cavalry scout training at Ft. Knox, Ky.

This training included combat life support, land navigation, and mounted and dismounted armor training exercises.

Brendan is currently stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and is assigned to the 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade. The brigade is tasked to improve situational awareness for the commanders at division level or higher, so they can adapt their firepower for current conditions.The brigade can employ unmanned aerial vehicles, signals gathering equipment, human intelligence collectors, and long-range surveillance patrols. The 504th conducts intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance in support of III Corps.

Brendan will complete this additional training prior to upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.

Brendan is a 2010 graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical School. He is supported and missed by his parents, Maureen and Larry, and his sisters, Sarah and Caitlin.
