TOWNSEND — The 2011-12 school year is rapidly approaching and with that comes the fall athletic season at North Middlesex Regional High School.

To particpate or try out for a fall sport, every student-athlete must have an updated sports physical presented to the respective coach on or before the first day of practice/tryouts. Additionally, a parental consent form must be signed by both the student-athlete and parent and returned to the coach on the first day of tryouts. A user fee check, made out to NM Athletics, in the amount of $150 must also be passed in on the first day.

The following is a tryout schedule for the first three days of practice/tryouts for all fall sports:

Cross country:

Aug. 25, 26 & 27, 9 a.m. at Hawthorne Brook.

Golf:

Aug. 25, 9 a.m. at Townsend Ridge Country Club.

Field hockey:

Aug. 25, 26 27 & 28, 8 a.m. to noon at high school field.

Boys soccer:

Aug. 24, paperwork collection from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.; Aug. 25 & 26, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Sterilite Field.

Girls soccer:

Aug. 25, 8:45 to 11:30 a.m.; Aug. 26, 12:45 to 3 p.m.; Aug. 27, 8:45 to noon, Sterilite Field.

Volleyball:

Aug. 24, paperwork collection from 10 a.m. to noon; Aug. 25 & 26(Frosh/JV) 8 to 10 a.m.; Aug. 25 & 26 (varsity) 10 to noon. At Bartlett Gym

Football

Aug. 22, 1 p.m. meeting and practice; Aug. 23 & 24, 1 to 5:30 p.m.; Aug. 25, double sessions, 7 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Players will be fed at football practice field (behind baseball field).
