SAGE fundraiser

SAGE Crossing Foundation will be hosting a fund-raising gala on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The event, which features acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Matt Savage, will take place at The National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road, Lexington.

Laura Carlo, popular morning host at WGBH radio, 99.5 All- Classical, will serve as MC. Tickets cost $75 and include beer, wine, canapes, and the musical performance.

SAGE (Special Adults – Greener Earth) Crossing Foundation sponsors day farm programs for adults with autism and plans a prospective farmstead community.

Saturday, Aug. 13, 11 a.m. Aquatic Plants. Come prepared to get your feet wet. Meet at the Damon Pond parking lot at Willard Brook State Forest. Call Suzanna at 978-448-5301 with questions.

Saturday, Aug. 20, 8:30 a.m. Trails Work Day. Bring work gloves, clippers or loppers if you’ve got them, plenty of water, bagged lunch, and lots of energy. The work party will last until about 4 p.m., but please come even if you can stay only a few hours. We hope to cover about two miles of this four-mile trail. Meet at the Pearl Hill State Park parking lot on New Fitchburg Road in West Townsend. Ray Jackson will lead the effort, and he can be reached at 978-597-8813 if you’ve got questions.

Summer Concert Schedule

The Nashoba Valley Concert Band announces its summer concert schedule.

Aug. 21: Westford Concert on the Common — 5 p.m.

Aug. 23: Pepperell Summer Concert Series — 7 p.m.

Aug. 26: Shirley — 6:30 p.m.

The following towns support the Nashoba Valley Concert Band by providing funding through their Local Cultural Councils: Ayer, Harvard, Groton and Westford.
