SHREWSBURY– Mary Beth Banios of Groton, the former principal of Harvard Hildreth Elementary School, is one of two finalist for the job of assistant superintendent of schools in Shrewsbury.

Banios, who is now the assistant superintendent of schools in Maynard, led HES for six years and previously was assistant principal at the Floral Street School in Shrewsbury..
The other finalist is Todd Curtis, the current principal of the Floral Street School.
Public interviews were scheduled for Monday, June 6, with Superintendent of Schools Joseph Sawyer scheduled to forward his final selection to the School Committee on Wednesday, June 8.
Shrewsbury’s current assistant superintendent, Jay Cummings, is leaving to become the superintendent of schools in Grafton.
